Google has announced that it is going to buy Panoramio for an undisclosed amount to add it to its Google Geo product mix (Google Earth and Google Maps). It is promised to be a win-win situation for both parties. Google makes its online presence more visible every day and this acquisition is another indication of this.

Torrents are slowly closing in on the art of reappropriating content and packaging it as your own for fun and profit. In other words, torrents first and foremost cannibalize the latent piracy market. Of course, on the other hand it turns people normally averse to illegal activity into offenders but that's another topic.

On Friday, YouTube will begin revenue sharing with top users including LisaNova, renetto, HappySlip, smosh, and valsartdiary using the same system they've used for TV networks. They'll also be sharing revenue with thousands of medium-sized content content creators like small production houses and universities.
